Prof. Rob Alessie is a distinguished academic with a prolific career in the field of Economics. He taught at various universities, the latest one being the University of Groningen.

Prof. Alessie’s research primarily focuses on Micro-Econometrics, with significant contributions to understanding household savings, pensions, and financial literacy. He has been involved in numerous grants, such as the Netspar theme grants and NWO Open Programme grants, which have supported his research on social security, pension reforms, and the well-being of the elderly population. His work has been published in various refereed journals, including the European Economic Review, Journal of Applied Econometrics, and Journal of Economic Psychology.

In addition to his research, Prof. Alessie has been an active member of editorial boards and has supervised numerous Ph.D. dissertations. His teaching experience spans undergraduate and graduate courses in Econometrics, Microeconomics, and Quantitative Economics. Prof. Alessie’s dedication to advancing the field of Economics is evident through his extensive publication record, and participation in conferences and seminars.
